Avengers: Age of Ultron Already Making Bank Overseas, On Track for Hulk-Sized Opening Weekend

Avengers: Age of Ultron is out today basically everywhere else but the US, and it’s no surprise that it’s absolutely killing it.

How much has it made so far?

According to early figures, the film has already grossed $9.5 million in the 11 markets it’s opened in so far. These include France, where it became the country’s biggest opening of 2015 so far, and the Philippines where it’s the country’s biggest opening of all time.

Today will see it arrive in the UK, South Korea, Australia, Russia, and Germany, where it’s almost certainly going to continue to flatten its box office competition. Estimates currently place it somewhere in the range of $175 million in box office revenue before the weekend is through.

Those of us stateside will get it in just over a week when the film hits theaters on May 1. 2012’s The Avengers currently stands as the third-highest grossing movie of all time, sitting at around $1.5 billion. Could Age of Ultron become the first Marvel film to surpass it?
