Will Doctor Strange be Introduced on Iron Fist?

The more the Marvel universe grows, the more interconnected it gets. Rumors of characters showing up in each other’s movies isn’t uncommon and can often be true. What began as a cameo for Iron Man in Civil War has become a full blown role in the film.

Next year, Doctor Strange starring Benedict Cumberbatch is set for release on November 4th, 2016. Bleeding Cool is reporting a rumor that his character, Stephen Strange, will make an appearance in Marvel’s Iron Fist Netflix series.

How will he appear?

The details of his appearance are unknown, if he does appear at all. Both characters have supernatural origins, so it’s possible that Marvel is trying to streamline that side of their universe by tying both characters to the same mystical force.

Bleeding Cool isn’t sure if he will even physically appear on the show, but they don’t rule Cumberbatch’s voice. Does that mean he will contact Iron Fist spiritually or psychically?  Could he be Iron Fist’s disembodied Yoda? Unfortunately, there aren’t many connections between the two characters in the comics to draw on. They have very little in the way of major interaction, thus making most of their connections in the MCU, for the most part, and original creation.

Where was this information obtained?

From an “old script,” seemingly an older draft of Doctor Strange. If that’s the case, it’s very likely changes between drafts could have eliminated the connection altogether. What was planned last year doesn’t necessarily carry over to next year, especially with the ever shifting nature of the MCU.

Still, it’s worth keeping an eye on, as it seems like the kind of crossover Marvel could pull off quite easily.

Any other crossovers I should know about?

At the moment, there are a few rumors bouncing about concerning the characters of the Netflix shows. Given that A.K.A. Jessica Jones in the in the middle of shooting and many other Marvel projects, from Civil War to Iron Fist, will be going into production in the coming months expect to hear even more soon.
