First Details on Star Wars Battlefront Have Leaked

Ahead of the Star Wars Battlefront event taking place today at the Star Wars Celebration, an AP report ousted quite a few details about the upcoming game.

Star Wars Battlefront — the third game in the Star Wars Battlefront series — launches November 17 for PC, Xbox One and PS4.

What Else Was Revealed?

What’s more interesting is that the game will actually line-up with the original trilogy, allowing players to control iconic characters such as Darth Vader, Boba Fett and more.

You’ll also be able to explore the desert planet Jakku from The Force Awakens two weeks before the movie is in theaters. It looks like the level will be released as DLC, however.

The game’s executive producer Patrick Bach says, “In the game, you actually get to play the Battle of Jakku. It’s the same place from the new movie but 30 years earlier.”

What’s in the Star Wars Battlefront AP Report?

The report also mentions the planets Hoth and Tattooine. Don’t worry, you’ll get to explore more planets than that. The others just haven’t been named yet.

Lifted directly from the AP report here’s a brief description of the game in action:

“Battlefront” will focus on frenzied shoot-outs between up to 40 players portraying Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire forces. In a demonstration of the game’s multiplayer mode, a team of jetpack-equipped rebels were shown carving their way through the woodsy Endor while Stormtroopers charged at them on foot, on speeders and within walkers, including a hulking AT-AT war machine.

This information was under embargo, which AP might have broken. During the panel for the game later today EA is set to unveil a trailer (10:30AM PST or 1:30PM EST).

We’ll have more news for you on the game as soon as it’s available.
