How The Heck Can The Hulk Be In Thor: Ragnarok?

And more importantly… will he smash?

Now that Captain America: Civil War is in the can, attention is being turned to the rest of the MCU… namely Thor: Ragnarok. Now, it’s been said that the Thor films aren’t quite up to the level of quality that we’ve seen in the Captain America and Iron Man outings… and part of that may be how they are isolated from the rest of the MCU. That means unlike a film like The Winter Soldier, a Thor film can’t draw on the same level of character interplay that’s made Marvel’s films so popular to begin with.

Well, if the rumors being reported by JoBlo are true, Marvel looks to be correcting that oversight in Ragnarok. It seems Thor has a fever… and the only prescription is more Hulk.

So… does it take place on Earth?

According to the report… a majority of the film will not take place in either Earth or Asgard, but instead a distant planet. There’s some speculation that the storyline of Planet Hulk may be worked in there… but there’s really nothing to back that up at present. Still… it’s an interesting thought.

So… how did the Hulk get to that distant planet?

That’s the big question, isn’t it? Last we saw Bruce Banner/Hulk, he had abandoned his fellow Avengers at the end of Age of Ultron and had taken off to parts unknown. While he was scheduled to appear in Captain America: Civil War… that appearance has been cut. As Civil War is already packed to the gills with characters, it’s a decision we can understand.

… so does that mean they were saving him for Thor? We don’t know of any human technology at present in the MCU that can transport that far into space… which makes us think an alien intervention is at play. Perhaps the Asgardians recruit the Hulk to help Thor? After all, it seems like they have the capability to track down almost anyone anywhere in the universe. Obviously, Thor is facing a big threat in Ragnarok, which could lead him to bringing in the big guns.

But, of course, that begs the question on why he doesn’t recruit the rest of the Avengers… but we’ll let them explain that away in the film if we’re correct with that theory.

It could also be that Loki is the one who brings in the Hulk, as his psychological tricks could easily make Bruce Banner Hulk out in the same way Scarlett Witch tricked him in Age of Ultron.

Are there any other characters that are supposed to show up in Thor: Ragnarok?

According to the report, it’s Thor, Loki, and Lady Sif.

What about Jane Foster?

Do you really care?

… not really no.

We didn’t think so.
