Happy day music maniacs! Like new stuff? Great! You’ve come to the right place. Each week all sorts of audiolicious goodies are unleashed onto the masses and this is where they come to be judged. I’ll tell ya what’s good, what’s bad, and what’s a waste of your time. Thanks for stopping by!

The Big News

Undoubtedly, the most anticipated release this week is the new Janet Jackson set Unbreakable, her first release of new material in, like, forever, man. Everyone’s very, very excited about this new powerful release, which features collaborations with artists like Missy Elliot and J Cole.

ROCK-STRAVAGANZA

Big week for good ol’ fashioned rawk n’ roll! The new Eagles of Death Metal, Zipper Down, finally sees the light of day this week. This is the first breath of fresh air from this Josh Homme led project since goddamned 2008, and, at least according to NPR, the boys return in stride. “It may have taken Hughes and Homme seven years to make it, but it still sounds as if they’d jumped out of a plane and recorded it on the way down.”

90’s alt radio gods from down south Collective Soul reemerge with offering another offering, See What You Started by Continuing, the band’s first release since their 2009 self-titled release.

Prog metal legends Queensryche return with their fifteenth record, Condition Human, their first since 2013, this week.

Super sludge metal maestros Kylesa unveils Exhausting Fire. Noisey is all excited about this motherfucker: “This is the album that finally sees Kylesa achieve their lofty potential, it’s the most focused and interesting release in their long discography and may well be a watershed moment in their career.” I can’t wait to hear this thing.

Finnish death metal disasters Children of Bodom strike back with I Worship Chaos, their ninth opus.

Indie Miscy

The new Waaves lp, V, is probably going to be fun.

Irish rockers Girls Names return with Arms Around a Vision.

My Recommendation

Some bitchin’ new record coming out in the last few weeks. I’m still stuck on that Sexwitch record from last week, and that new Kylesa is going to devour me. But I’m also excited about the new Blitzen Trapper release All Across This Land, the Portland alt-folk collective’s first record since 2013.

Next Week

Tune in next week for new stuff from Selena Gomez!!
