Time once again for another update of all the wonderful new releases being unleashed this week in the music world. I’ll tell ya what’s good, what’s bad, and what’s a waste of your time. Thanks for stopping by!!

The Big News

The BIG NEWS is that the end of the year is approaching and that it is time to start looking at an end of the year schedule for this column. I’ll go ahead an announce that either next week or the week after but, keep in mind, the weekly music updates will cease in early December and be replaced with the usual end of the year lists – Top Ten Songs, Top Ten Albums, as well as the usual holiday songs and stuff like that. But anyway… speaking of end of year best of lists, here are two that I can all but guarantee will not be on my lists.

The new Maroon 5, Red Pill Blues, the band’s first since 2014.

And this new thing from singer Sam Smith. Just not my thing, guys and gals.

Metal Mania

Now I can get behind this – THE NEW CANNIBAL CORPSE!!! Red Before Black is the band’s fourteenth and first since 2014.

and THE FIRST FUCKING CONVERGE ALBUM IN FIVE LONG YEARS!!!!!! Called The Dusk In Us… oh, there’s just no words.

My Recommendation

Other than the new Converge record? Shit, uh, I… ya got me. Oh, wait, what about this one from a member of Cocteau Twins. but seriously, the new Converge.

Next Week

Tune in next week, same new music time, same new music channel, for new stuff from: ugh, more Taylor Swift.
