Time for your weekly update on all the new music stuffs being released this week. I’ll tell ya what’s good, what’s bad, and what’s a waste of your time. So strap on your headphones and let’s go for a ride!

The Big News

No big news this week, I guess. I mean there’s a new Melvins album, A Walk With Love and Death, a double album half soundtrack sort of thing that Loudwire calls part “off kilter avant garde work” and part “classic Melvins”.

And Canadian indie kids Broken Social Scene return with their fifth, Hug of Thunder.

Metal Maniacs

New live stuff from Germany’s power metal masters Blind Guardian.

Riverdogs reunite for another reunion record (containing a dude from Def Leppard).

Leading Ladies

New stuff from bluegrass legend, and a favorite performer of mine, Rhonda Vincent.

Texas songwriter Sara Jaffe is back with another solo record.

And hipster darlings HAIM return with their sophomore effort.

My Recommendation

Based on the Loudwire quoted above, I’ll go ahead and rec’ up more of that new Melvins record.
