Hey there music lover! You like new stuff? Great! You’ve stumbled into the perfect corner of the internet.  Each week all sorts of audiolicious goodies are unleashed onto the masses and this is where they come to be judged. I’ll tell ya what’s good, what’s bad, and what’s a waste of your precious time. So strap on your headphones and let’s take a ride!

The Big News

Wow. It’s like a freaking cemetery around this place nowadays, amiright? No updates on the new Star Wars, no Adventure Time recaps or Pokemon conspiracy theories… it’s just music.  Which sounds great! Except, well, the silence around here is a bit unsettling.

Anyway, it’s March, which marks the third anniversary of this column. So happy freaking birthday to me!

And I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than with a new Violent Femmes record! Titled We Can Do Anything, it’s the tricky trio’s ninth record in their thirty some year existence and first since 2000.

Bow Down to Her Highnesses
Country queen Loretta Lynn unveils Full Circle, her first release in ten years.

Glitterbust, the new project from Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon, drops this week.

And little indie lady Thao and her Get Down Stay Down return with A Man Alive. I’m gonna buy this album. On vinyl. And love it.

Indie-Miscy

Swedish indie poppers Miike Snow  offer up their junior effort iii.

Ouroboros is the name of the new Ray Lamontagne album that I’m not going to listen to.

England’s vastly underrated heroes The Coral return with their eighth release, Distance Inbetween.

And indie folkster M Ward returns with More Rain.

RIP
This is the part of the show where we say goodbye to those who’ve played their last solo. Rest in peace and rock on, brothers and sisters.
James Atkins of grungers Hammerbox.

John Thomas of Welsh head bangers Budgie.

My Recommendation

I wants to hear more Glitterbust!

Next Week

Tune in next week, same new music time, same new music channel, for new stuff from Killswitch Engage!
