“The Secret World of Arriety”
Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Do you believe good old fashioned fairy tails? Or perhaps you are still enjoying hanging out with your imaginary friend? The Secret World of Arriety has it all! This is a story about friendship between a 12-year-old boy named Sho and a borrower Arriety. Borrowers are little people hiding and living by “borrowing” every day stuff from humans. Arriety and her family live underneath an old house where Sho spends one summer while he is expecting his heart surgery. One day Sho finds Arriety in the backyard of the old house, and eventually he attempts to contact her. Arriety also wants to be close to Sho, but she struggles with the borrowers’ commandments, they must stay away from humans. A fantastic adventure is just about to begin! This is another masterpiece of Studio Ghibli animation movies!
