Anyone hoping to see the next Resident Evil film any time soon is in for some disappointing news. Resident Evil 6 will not be arriving in September, as previously rumored. In fact, Paul W.S. Anderson hasn’t even started working on it.

“We’d like to do another Resident Evil movie. Definitely. But the wheels aren’t quite in motion yet,” Anderson told Collider  at a recent press junket for Pompeii. Collider believes Anderson has not even begun working on a script, and will be taking a break from filmmaking for a little while after Pompeii arrives.

Anderson added to IGN that when it does go down, Resident Evil 6 will probably be his last.
