X-Files Is Returning to TV after a “13-Year Commercial Break”

The X-Files is making a return to TV after nearly a decade and a half off the air (and seven years since the last movie).

Whaaaaat?

Crazy, right? The series wil return as a six-episode limited series on Fox.

“I think of it as a 13-year commercial break,” said series creator Chris Carter in a statement. “The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.”

Who’s coming back?

Both David Duchovy and Gillian Anderson will return as Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Additionally, the series’ original creator Chris Carter will oversee the project.

What will it be about?

We don’t know any specifics right now, but there are a ton of loose ends in the X-Files story to wrap-up.

Luckily, it sounds like we’ll be getting some answers, as Gillian Anderson told the Daily Mail that, “The idea is to get the old gang back, have some fun and get a bit of closure for us and the audience”

I want to believe.
