Fernando and Nomi bond over the pain they both feel. Nomi’s father forced her to be the son he wanted. Fernando knows if he comes out as gay, he’ll lose the roles he wants to play. Riley goes to the grave of her husband and child. She breaks down crying as she reveals she didn’t go to the funeral. She couldn’t face their deaths. Capheus appears and reveals that he once had a sister. When she was eight, their mother had to take her to an orphanage. They had no food and if they didn’t put her up for adoption, she’d die. Capheus sees this as his sister ‘dying.’ He never saw her again after that. Capheus and Riley both realize that death doesn’t let you say goodbye. It only causes pain in your life and future.
This episode had plenty of emotion. I enjoyed the glimpses into the different Sensates past. The overall theme of Death was depressing but intriguing. We got to see how death has affected each of them. We also got to see a touching bonding moment between Nomi and Fernando. Nomi overcame great obstacles to become who she is today. Fernando is trying to find the strength to overcome his obstacle.
We have three more episodes left. I wonder how they’ll tie up the loose ends. Nomi still isn’t safe. The men that are after her and the other Sensates will keep coming. Who are the ‘Whispers’ and why are they after the Sensates? Where is Jonas and how will he escape? Will the Sensates ever meet, more importantly, will they ever be safe?
