Comic-Con 2016: When and Where Will It Be Held?

The dust is finally settling on this year’s Comic-Con (although we still have a few more analysis pieces planned, stay tuned!), leaving us to ready ourselves for the next mad dash for tickets and hotel rooms.

Comic-Con International has yet to officially announce next year’s dates, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have something to pencil into your calendar.

When will Comic-Con 2016 be?

According to the official convention center website, Comic-Con 2016 will be held from July 21, 2016 through July 24, with an estimated 130,000 attendees.

This falls in line with a previous rumor from earlier in the year. Back in January, fans discovered a listing for a “Private Event” (again with 130,000 attendees expected) on the Convention Center’s calendar on those same dates.

If you’re wondering why there are only four days blocked out, don’t worry, there’s still going to be a Preview Night. Past years have likewise kept the first night unlisted on the calendar for some reason.

However! Keep in mind that this is not set in stone until an official announcement is made, so be careful with any early hotel reservations!

And where will it be held?

Comic-Con’s current contract with San Diego is set to expire next year. However, earlier this month it was reported that CCI had reached a deal to keep the event in the same venue through at least 2018.

So there you have it, none of it is official yet, but it should be enough to help you begin planning for the biggest geek event of the year!
