It seems like ever since we heard the news that Bethesda is planning to show off a Fallout 4 demo behind closed doors at E3, more and more has been leaking about the game.
More recently, we heard rumors that Bethesda hired Guillermo del Toro’s production company to create a trailer for the game. The question is, where did this rumor come from?
Where Did This Rumor Come From?
It seems pretty crazy to just randomly make claims that Guillermo del Toro’s production company is involved with a Bethesda and Fallout 4 project. Especially since we just saw the cancellation of Silent Hills and del Toro has had terrible luck with video games in the past.
Apparently, a 3D artist that works for del Toro’s production company — Mirada Studios — listed a cinematic trailer for Fallout 4 on his LinkedIn profile as experience.
Obviously, LinkedIn is a career and networking social space so the 3D artist in question was listing the Fallout 4 cinematic trailer on his resume. According to his profile, he worked on the trailer between December of 2014 and March of this year. That schedule coincides with the rumor that Bethesda will be unveiling a new Fallout game at E3 2015. We wouldn’t normally believe this sort of thing, except for the fact that at E3 Bethesda will be hosting their first ever press conference. That means, something big is on the way.
Of course, as with any other rumor we’ve covered here at Overmental it’s a good idea to take this information with a grain of salt. E3 2015 would be the perfect place to announce a new Fallout title, one that’s been anticipated for about seven years now. That said, there’s not been an official confirmation as such, yet.
What Does This Mean, If True?
Other than a new Fallout game is on the way, it means we should expect to see a trailer for the game at E3 2015. Keep in mind, the rumor involves a “cinematic trailer” which means that there may be very little gameplay.
That makes sense, considering the original rumor alludes to a gameplay demo being shown behind closed doors. It’s likely that Bethesda is planning to officially announce the game at E3, and select parties will be given a look at the gameplay.
Are you excited to see a new game in the Fallout series? I know I sure am.
