No time like the present to surf the waves of new music being released this week. I’ll tell ya what’s good, what’s bad, and what’s a waste of your time. Thanks for stopping by!
The Big News
Nothing massive this week, just a strong week of great stuff from solid artists. So we’re just gonna do this one list style, rapid fire-like, if ya will. The most exciting new release this week is gonna be Good Thing the follow-up to Leon Bridges’ masterful Coming Home. Sounds just as good as it’s predecessor, by the way, so I’m excited. Or maybe not.
Indie Stuff
Jazzy duo Birds of Chicago are back with Love in Wartime, their sophomore effort.
Indie singer/songwriter Damien Jurado returns with The Horizon Just Laughed.
Boston’s Lake Street Dive offer up Free Yourself Up, their first since 2016.
Dope Rapper
Royce da 5’9 is back with Book of Ryan.
Legendary Legends
One of my personal idols, and the author of my all-time favorite record, Brian Eno gives us Music For Installations.
And alt/rock legends Belly are back with their first spurts in nearly 25 years, the very welcome Dove.
My Recommendation
Anywhere is the collaboration by Cedric from Mars Volta, Krist Novoselic, Mike Watt, Dale Crover, and etc. Can’t beat it.
Next Week
Tune in next week, same new music time, same new music channel, for new stuff from BEACH HOUSE.
