The first season of Gotham just wrapped up, but that won’t stop us from talking about the next season likely to debut in fall 2015, or early 2016. Don’t worry, the show was renewed for a second season back in January.
Some of the villains we’ll see next season have already been confirmed, such as the Joker. However, there are others — one in particular that’s almost as iconic as the Joker. If you’re okay with spoiling the surprise, head on past the break. Obviously, spoiler warning for the Gotham Season 1 finale.
What Villains Will Show Up in Season 2?
Gotham showrunner Bruno Heller confirmed some time ago that Joker’s origin story would unfold in Season 2. The bigger surprise, is that Mr. Freeze will also show up, as confirmed by Fox execs.
Other villains include the Riddler, Clayface and even Mad Hatter. That’s a decent list, but it’s likely we’ll meet some others too. The producer promised Professor Hugo Strange will appear at some point. Villains returning from the first season include the “Jerome” character (who might be The Joker), and ‘Tommy Elliot’ who will eventually become the assassin ‘Hush’ if you don’t already know.
With Fish Mooney, Carmine Falcone and Sal Moroni out of the picture, Penguin is now the biggest kingpin in Gotham. It’s a nice setup for Season 2 and it makes you wonder who he’ll bring on as an ally going forward.
Given how Barbara aggressively attacked Leslie, is it possible we’ll see her transform into a more sinister character next season?
