5. Battlecry | Arkane
Bethesda and Arkane are throwing their hat into the multiplayer shooter ring with Battlecry, a 32-player, team-based game set in an alternate 1900s where gunpowder weapons have been banned. To replace guns, crazy gadgets and melee weapons have been developed, with each of the game’s classes specializing in a different sort.
In addition to these preset differences between classes, Battlecry will also allow you to level each of them up, unlocking new gameplay customization options to tweak them to your own personal style.
6. Dirty Bomb | Splash Damage
Splash Damage is a developer with over a decade of experience working on team-based multiplayer shooters, having created Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, and Brink.
Their next game is called Dirty Bomb, featuring teams of mercenaries battling it out in post-apocalyptic London. We don’t know much about the game yet, but with class names like Bush Whacker, Thunder, Sawbonez, and Rhino, it’ll hopefully have a pretty unique tone.

7. Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age | Crytek
Similar to Left 4 Dead, Crytek’s Hunt teams you up with three other players to try and survive hordes of NPC-controlled monsters. The game features a steampunk-ish setting, with players taking on the roles of “hunters,” sent to face demonic monsters that have begun appearing around the world.
Hunt was originally set for a 2014 release date, but has since been pushed back following the closure of Crytek USA. A beta on Xbox One, PS4, and PC is now expected to launch early next year.
