Daredevil is officially online, so get on Netflix and start marathoning!
Wait, what’s Daredevil?
Seriously? You’re killing me smalls!
Daredevil is the start of a partnership between Netflix and Marvel that will bring a total of four new Cinematic Universe TV series to the streaming platform, culminating in a mini-series event called The Defenders.
This particular series stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, a blind attorney by day, and a crimefighting vigilante known as Daredevil by night. We haven’t seen it yet ourselves, but early reports indicate it’s almost good enough to make you forget about the Ben Affleck movie!
How does it fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
Daredevil takes place in the aftermath of the Battle of New York (the big alien invasion from The Avengers), as the neighborhood of Hell’s Kitchen struggles to rebuild after all of the destruction. In that chaotic time, criminal elements have taken control, forcing Matt Murdock to suit up, and take back his city.
Aside from that, don’t expect a ton of MCU tie-ins. Daredevil, along with the rest of the Defenders series, are meant to stand on their own (so feel free to enjoy it with your non-Marvel fan friends). That being said, don’t be surprised if Daredevil just shows up and brains Ultron with a stick at the end of Avengers 2.
Just kidding.
Maybe.
How many episodes is it?
All 13 episodes of the first season are now available to watch (in Ultra HD 4K no less), exclusively on Netflix. Enjoy!
