You and a friend need to escape the Empire. Unlucky for you, they really seem to want you dead.
DICE debuted a new mode for Star Wars Battlefront in addition to the AT-AT mode they introduced earlier today at the EA Press Conference.
What is this new mode?
It’s called “Survival,” and it seems to concentrate on a smaller scale engagement than the one we saw earlier. The premise seems to be that you and a friend have crash landed on a planet and Empire is looking to capture you. In order to survive, you have to hold off a gauntlet of Imperial attacks until the Rebellion can rescue you. Along the way, the Rebels are actively trying to help you with supply drops.

What’s this desert map I’m seeing?
It’s probably Tatooine, but it could also be Jakku. Our money is on the former.
We see anything else new?
We did! There seems to be personal shields, as well as Mon Calamari cruisers that you can use to call down orbital strikes.
Will there be an Imperial version of this mode?
We imagine there would have to be for the sake of gameplay opportunities and balance.
Can this be played Solo in addition to being a co-op mode?
It seems like that is the case, yes. They really seem to be hinting there is a single player experience, even if it may be just a version of the multiplayer modes rather than a full blown campaign.
