It turns out Disney’s Haunted Mansion is getting a refresh, and we’re willing to bet your brow will crinkle when you learn the duo behind it.
What’s Going On Now?
Guillermo del Toro and Ryan Gosling are teaming up to make Haunted Mansion, yet another movie about Disney’s popular ride.
This will be a change of pace for both actors as the film will be for family audiences, as opposed to the dark, and mature themes these guys are usually known for.
Then again, Gosling should be in familiar territory. Once upon a time he was part of the infamous Mickey Mouse Club alongside stars like Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and many others.
Where’s This News Coming From?
The story was first revealed by TheWrap, but del Toro and Gosling have been buddy-buddy for a while now. They even paid a visit to Disneyland where they explored the park, and rode the Haunted Mansion ride.
Screenwriter DV DeVincentis is penning the script, of High Fidelity and Grosse Pointe Blank fame.
We’ll have more on the subject as soon as it’s available. For now, you can always look to Crimson Peak, del Toro’s most recent project which — oddly enough — also happens to feature a Victorian-style house haunted by ghosts. It’s worth noting, del Toro originally announced his involvement with the project back in 2010 at Comic Con.
