Jeremy Renner, everyone’s favorite little Avenger that could, has joined the cast of Captain America: Civil War (2016).
That’s great, any other Avengers? Anyone at all? Please?
Captain America: Civil War is gearing up to be a pseudo-Avengers sequel, Avengers 2.5 if you will. Not only are Haweye and obviously Captain America in it, but so are Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow. Chadewick Boseman’s Black Panther and the yet to be cast new Spider-Man are also set to debut in the film.
That’s Awesome! But, ah, what’s Civil War about again?
Captain America: Civil War will be loosely based on the comic by the same name and follow the split between Captain America and Iron Man over government control of superheroes. Most of the Avengers pick a side and fight one another, and many speculate that we’ll see the same thing happen in the Marvel Movies. If Hawkeye is anything in his comic source, he’ll most likely join Cap’s side. The events of the cinematic Civil War are set to follow after Avengers: Age of Ulton, where Iron Man’s attempt to police the world leads to the creation of a genocidal A.I. Knowing Cap, he’s probably not going to be too down with that.
Captain America: Civil War will premiere on May 6, 2016
