With all the success of the TV series The Flash on CW, it makes sense that a movie wouldn’t be far behind. It looks like that’s the case, as some news about the movie is starting to surface and it’s promising– oh, it’s real promising.
What’s Going On With the Flash?
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are teaming up to create a story for DC comics superhero, The Flash. It will be backed by Warner Bros. which means it should be relatively well-supported financially.
The duo is responsible for The Lego Movie, which reeled in about $468.7 million globally. A ‘Lego’ spinoff and sequel are on the way (Lego Batman and another Lego Movie), which means the pair must have done something right, right?
Don’t worry, these guys don’t have all of their experience invested in animated films. They directed both 21 Jump Street and the sequel, 22 Jump Street. They produced the two Cloudy With a Chance of Meatball films, as well.
The Flash Gets an Update
The Flash originally showed up back in 1940 as part of the Justice League DC Comics. Ever since, the character’s had a few parts on small and big screens, including the series in the 90’s and the most recent one starring Grant Gustin as the speedy superhero.
It will be interesting to see what Lord and Miller do for the franchise. Are you excited, or do you feel they’re going to drop the ball somehow?
