Reader, I don’t know about you, but this drawing has my eyes teetering on the edge of tears. And, fortunately, this illustration by software engineer Alex Panagopoulos could be coming even more to life. Journey 2: The Mysterious Island director Beau Flynn is teaming up with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to produce and potentially star in a film inspired by the drawing, tentatively titled Teddy Bear.
While Journey 2 was definitely not a movie most people were flocking to the theaters to see, I have a feeling this one has the potential for something great. Most of us had (or, have… shh!) a stuffed animal that was our best friend as a kid. Mine was a stuffed dog named Poochie: my confidante, snuggle buddy, best friend, and protector.
This movie has the ability for something outstanding. Starting with Rupert from Family Guy to Ted, the idea of our teddy bears having more to them than fluff is only just beginning. If done right, I think this film has outstanding potential. It could be like Toy Story, Shiloh, How to Train Your Dragon, and The Rescuers all combined, not to mention teddy bears remind me of lovable Ewoks!
