Marvel by the Years: A Brief MCU Timeline

Everything has been leading to this, Infinity War is finally here.

If you need a moment to brush up on the MCU’s decades of lore though, I’ve got you covered. Below is a decade/year-by-year breakdown of the biggest moments in the timeline, all leading up to Thor: Ragnarok‘s arrival of Thanos.

As a quick note though, the dates are accurate… for now. Marvel plays a little fast and loose with specific plotting of the timeline, so they may shift down the line if necessary. The chronological order should remain intact regardless though.

  • Steve Rogers volunteers to undergo Dr. Abraham Erskine’s experimental Super Soldier Serum treatment, which enhances his body to superhuman proportions.

  • In the course of one of these missions, Rogers’ childhood friend Bucky Barnes is apparently KIA.
