Hey there music lover! You like new stuff? Great! You’ve stumbled into the perfect corner of the internet.  Each week all sorts of audiolicious goodies are unleashed onto the masses and this is where they come to be judged. I’ll tell ya what’s good, what’s bad, and what’s a waste of your precious time. So strap on your headphones and let’s take a ride!

The Big News

This is a big week as we head towards the end of the year. There are a bunch of great new records squeezing themselves into existence before Christmas and none are bigger than Here, the new one from diva Alicia Keys. It is her first since 2012.

Other Big News

Here’s the new Bon Jovi record that I’m not going to listen to. Or to which I’m not going to listen.

And here’s the new Common epic that I’m definitely going to try out. Titled Black America Again it’s the rapper’s first since 2014.

Miscellaneous Pile

The new Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions record, Until the Hunter has been streaming on NPR and it is fucking amazing. Definitely one of my favorite records of the year. It is the outfit’s first record in seven years and I’m obsessed with it.

Eternally Even is the name of the new Yim James record. It’s the My Morning Jacket mastermind’s first solo outing since 2013.

POTENTIAL ALBUM OF THE YEAR!! It’s the new Lambchop, of course. Dubbed FLOTUS (For Love Often Turns Us Still), it is Mr Wagner’s first since 2012. Says Pitchfork of this new “defiantly odd” new record: “It is as lush and gorgeous as any of their past work”.

RIP

This is the part where we say goodbye to those who’ve hit their last high note. Rock on and rest in peace, brothers and sisters.

Bobby Vee.

Songwriter Curly Putman.

Saxophonist Bobby Wellins.

Eddy Christiani

My Recommendations

Like I said last week, I feel horrible for not catching that Lemon Twigs debut so I’ll gladly recommend it twice! You really need to find this album from these hipster dipshits, one of the more brilliant debuts I’ve heard in years.

Next Week!!!!

Tune in next week, same new music time, same new music channel, for new stuff from Sting!!!!!!
