New Music Weekend: Lupe Fiasco, Tall Ships, Thievery Corporation, and More!!!

Hey there music lover! Like new stuff? Great! You’ve come to the right place. Each week all sorts of audiolicious goodies are unleashed onto the masses and this is where they come to be judged. I’ll tell ya what’s good, what’s bad, and what’s a waste of your time. Thanks for stopping by!

The Big News
Does Lupe Fiasco qualify as “big news” yet? I’m not sure. I mean, I’m sure Mr Fiasco believes he warrants such attention, but I’m not sold. Regardless, it’s a slow week and his is the highest profile offering so here ya go. It’s called Drogas Light.

Canadian Crooners
The Great White North’s country masters The Sadies return with Northern Passages, their first in a couple of years.

Fellow northerners Teen Daze unveil their latest full length Themes for Dying Earth.

The Rest
The Temple of I & I is the eighth opus from DC’s djs Thievery Corporation.

England’s experimental Tall Ships splash in with their debut full length, Impressions.

My Recommendation
I listened to this new Jessica Hoop record, Memories Are Now, a few times on the NPR First Listen stream this weekend and really dug it.

Next Week
Tune in next week, same new music time, same new music channel, for new stuff from: Ryan Adams.
