Time for your weekly roundup of all the new music goodies being unleashed to the masses. I’ll tell ya what’s good, what’s bad, and what’s a waste of your time! Thanks for stopping by!
The Big News
New Arcade Fire .Called Everything Now, it’s their fifth and first in forever. Lots of people are excited, me, eh, I don’t really need another Roxy Music in my life, I already have Phoenix. Pitchfork hated it, by the way, awarding it a 5.6 (which is basically dead) and calling it “a tangled, joyless record of Banksy disco and bloodless new wave that examines fear, love, and suicide in our modern media landscape”, which is just so amazingly hilarious on so many levels. Can you imagine Win Butler’s stupid face when he saw that? Look, I like AF as much as anybody… except, of course, AF itself. They didn’t try very hard on this one, or they tried too hard. Whatever the case, they deserve to take a little piss for it.
Mental Mania
New Alice Cooper and new Prong.

And new Valient Thorr.
The Rest
Manchester Orchestra.
Cage the Elephant.
My Recommendation
Mark E Smith and the Fall are back with New Facts Emerge, “the most complete and satisfyingly bonkers Fall album since 2008’s Imperial Wax Solvent”, according to Drowned in Sound.
