NMW: LCD Soundsystem, Motorhead, TPOBPAH, and More!!!

Time for your repetitive weekly update of all things new musicy. I’ll tell ya what’s good, what’s bad, and what’s a waste of your time. Thanks for stopping by!!

The Big News

Yeah, the whole LCD Soundsystem retirement thing was a big ripoff (on NPR today Will Hermes said that he cried during their last show). Predictably, the electro-rockers have returned with a new album, but unexpectedly, it is the best thing they’ve ever done. And I mean, by far. Called american dream, England’s NME was perhaps the most excited, sayin that the album: “delivers, point by point, on everything you could want from an LCD Soundsystem album.”

Pair of Covers

Two covers records this week. First up, Motorhead.

And folkie god wonderer Joan Osborne offers up a slew of Bob Dylan covers.

Acronymical

Legendary legends Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark (OMD) are back.

The pains of Being Pure at Heart also return with The Echo of Pleasure.

My Recommendation

Scottish sonic wizards Mogwai. All about the Sonic Men.

Next Week

Tune in next week, same new music time, same new music channel, for new stuff from: Jack Johnson.
