Professionals vs Developers in Smite Spring Fling 2015

Want to see the best ADC in Smite forced to play a support in a 1v1 joust? The Smite Spring Fling is the tournament for you.

HiRezDan announced on Smite’s eSports webpage that the Spring Fling tournament will be broadcast on the 23rd and 24th of April at 1pm EDT. All donations will be given to the American Cancer Society.

What kinds of games will be played?

It seems like a variety of games both in and out of Smite will be played, and viewers can choose what they want to see by voting prior to the festivities.

What can people vote on?

On Tuesday April 14th, you can start voting for 3v3 team names. So if you wanted to make Lassiz/DareToCare/Zapman call themselves BaRRaCCuDDa’s Fangirls, then you totally can. On Wednesday the 15th, you can vote for eSports in a Flash, a game that will quiz pro Smite players on their knowledge of the game. What’s the name of Kumbhakarhna’s passive? I don’t know and I don’t care, because I never play that god.

These all sound awesome, but the two I’m most excited for are the ones you can vote for on the 16th and 17th of April. On the 16th you can vote for who HiRezBart interviews in a bathtub. It’s finally happening boys, the hype is real. On the 17th you’ll be able to vote for an All Star game. That’s right. 5v5 Conquest, and you pick the players. This is probably the coolest thing I’ve ever seen, so everybody better vote for a Lassiz/BaRRaCCuDDa/ShadowQ/DaGarz/CycloneSpin team, because that sounds amazing.

What events are we most excited for?

I am incredibly hyped for the Pick-Up Game that’s on the 23rd. Two captains are going to be picking from a pool of 20 players for who they want on their team. There’s also going to be a straight up game of Family Feud hosted by Scott Ghandi. I don’t know what the hell to expect from the game itself, but I love Family Feud, I love Smite, and I love Scott Ghandi so it sounds like all the pieces for a good time are there.

Last but certainly not least, the HiRez vs Pros matchup should be very entertaining. Given the fact that a lot of HiRez devs are very good at the game, I’m hoping that people like Adanas, F., PonPon, and Kelly will be able to hold their own against the best of the best in Smite.
