This game just might replace my Counter-Strike addiction, and you can try it for free.
Ubisoft has announced a Closed Alpha testing period for Rainbow Six Siege, a multiplayer shooter that blew the socks off of us at E3 last year.
How can I sign up?
You can register to participate at rainbow6.ubi.com using your Uplay account. If you do not have a Uplay account, you will need to create one.
This testing period will be PC-only, and limited to those in North America and Europe. It will also be multiplayer-only, but frankly, that’s the only way this game should be played.
How will I know if I got in?
You will receive an email if you’re selected, sent to the address linked to your Uplay account.
When does the Closed Alpha start?
Ubisoft has not revealed a specific start date, so the best thing to do if you want in is to register as soon as possible so you don’t miss anything.
Can my computer run the game?
According to the devs, you’ll need the following specs to run the alpha client:
- OS: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, x64
- CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD FX-8120 Eight-Core
- CPU Speed: 3.3 GHz (Recommended), 2.6 GHz (Minimum)
- RAM: 8 GB
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 or AMD Radeon HD 7970 / R9 280 X
- VRAM: 2 GB
Most importantly, why do I want to play this game?
You pretty much just need to watch the original gameplay reveal to know if this is going to be for you or not. The game plays pretty much identically to what you see in the trailer, and that’s some pretty impressive stuff.
It also just so happened to be our favorite game of E3 last year, so if you trust our good taste, hurry up and register!
