2013 winner of NMW’s best album of the year, Neko Case, returns from a five year vacation from solo work next week, offering up a new record, Hell-On. It the alt/indie/country hero’s first since her masterful The Worse Things Get, the Harder I Fight, the Harder I Fight, the More I Love You (though she did participate in the case/lang/viers project in 1016) and her fifth solo record in her long career. And, as if news of another record wasn’t enough, the latest single from the record features special guest MARK FUCKING LANEGAN, otherwise known as THE MAN around these parts. Hell-No is out June 1 and, if Case’s recent appearance on Live From Here with Chris Thiele is any indication, it’s going to be a great one.
