Our tipster pal from Latino Review, Umberto Gonzalez, is at it again.
Alright, maybe Gonzalez isn’t our friend — we don’t even know him — but we’ve covered his rumors so frequently over the past few weeks that we feel like we know him. That counts, right?
This time, he unveiled the Batwing via his Instagram. If the rumor turns out to be true, the Batwing will make an appearance in Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice.
What Does the Batwing Look Like?
At a glance, it resembles the shape of a bat. I’d also like to point out the module in the back center seems as if it can detach. Could it be a hovercraft or a boat of some kind?
I’m guessing when it’s in this form it will work similar to a Harrier, with turbines underneath for lift and the jets in the back for propulsion. What do you think?
It will be interesting to see what Batman actually uses the Batwing for. Superman would tear right through this thing (probably), so maybe it’s just to get around faster? Maybe he takes on the big bad with it?
Still, it looks like a pretty sweet ride. I’d fly it.
The rumor checks out, because the design matches the Batwing from the Dawn of Justice teaser. Also, you may have noticed that whoever is piloting the Batwing — whether that be Batman or someone else — is laying waste to a bunch of cars.
This isn’t the first time we’re seeing the Batwing on screen. It made an appearance in Tim Burton, Joel Schumacher, and Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies. In Batman (1989) it was shaped like the Batman symbol. In Batman Forever (1995) it looked more like a toy, but it did transform into a boat — just like we predicted above, for the new version.
Finally, in the Dark Knight Rises it looked like a flying tank and was called the Bat.
What Other Vehicles are In Batman vs Superman?
We’ve already seen the Batmobile, thanks to a reveal by Batman vs Superman’s director Zack Snyder. Do we expect to see any other vehicles make an appearance? I don’t.
I’m more excited to see that new Batsuit Wayne is going to slide into when he takes on Superman. Seriously, look at the thing.
