For anyone who wants to play Portal without the distraction of silly things like computers and electricity, Valve is working on just the game for you. Portal: Uncooperative Cake Acquisition Game is the working title for an upcoming board game, which will be released as early as this year.
Valve has partnered with Cryptozoic Entertainment to publish the game, which they’ve been working on since 2012. Gameplay consists of two to four players competing against each other to “test the most desirable test chambers,” according to Valve’s Jeep Barnett. Once someone has taken the lead, they win by eliminating all of the test subjects.
In their product preview, Cryptozoic adds that the game will include “custom playing pieces include test subjects, sentry turret, weighted companion cube, and delicious cake.” It is currently being targeted for a tentative Q3 2014 release date, priced at $50.
