James McAvoy plays a younger version of Professor Xavier in First Class, Days of Future Past and the upcoming Apocalypse. His version of Professor X is a far cry from the original version played by Patrick Stewart. In particular, Stewart’s character is bald.
Since McAvoy’s role is a younger version of the character it makes sense that he would still have hair. However, it looks like in X-Men: Apocalypse he will finally be shaving it all off.
Will McAvoy’s Professor X Finally Be Bald?
Bryan Singer, director and producer of Apocalypse, uploaded a photo to Instagram of McAvoy getting his head shaved. The caption proudly says: “Xavier reborn (in process).”
As you can see from the image, it looks like McAvoy will finally sport the iconic bald look for his character. Although, I wonder if his head will be shaved at the beginning of the film, or if it will happen sometime after a later scene?
This means the getup will be much more authentic, as McAvoy is clearly going full bald for the role as opposed to donning a skin cap.
We’ll get to see what McAvoy and the rest of the cast are up to when the film hits theaters on May 27, 2016. He will be joined by series veterans Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, Evan Peters as Quicksilver, and Lucas Till as Havok. The newcomers include Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Ben Hardy as Angel, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Lana Condor as Jubilee, Olivia Munn as Psylocke, and Oscar Isaac as villain, the mutant Apocalypse.
