We’ve seen quite a few gameplay demos of Metal Gear Solid V — and I’m definitely hyped. What we haven’t seen, however, is much about the story.
Konami just released a five-minute trailer that’s… well, it’s creepy to say the least.
Where Is This Trailer?
Alongside exploring Afghanistan or Africa on various missions, upgrading the Mother Base and scavenging for resources you’ll be taking part in an epic action-adventure — as is canon for the Metal Gear series. We don’t know much when it comes to the story of The Phantom Pain, but we did learn a lot from the release of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. For instance, in Ground Zeroes we got our first glimpse at Skull Face, who will presumably be the game’s big bad, but other than his name we don’t know much about him.
We see a lot more of him in this extended trailer. It also explains a bit more about what’s going on in the world of Phantom Pain.
Where’s That Gameplay Demo You Talked About?
If you’d much rather see an extended hands-on with the game, here’s the gameplay demo:
It’s not the only gameplay demo around, there are a few more floating around from sources who’ve had the opportunity to demo the game.
Of course, there’s another cinematic trailer too.
Wait, There’s Another One?
Yep, there’s another short trailer that leaked early. I’m not sure if this is going to be unveiled during another press conference at E3, like Sony’s or if it’s just a straggler. Either way, it’s still worth checking out.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain launches on PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC September 1, 2015.
