Incredibly sad news tonight, influential Canadian poet and songwriter Leonard Cohen has died. Cohen’s body of work towered over the last 50 years and influenced essentially everyone in music that has mattered in that time. His first album, Songs of Leonard Cohen, was released in 1967 and his last, You Want it Darker, came out just a few weeks ago. If you’re not familiar with his work just check your Facebook or Twitter feed because his stuff is going to be shared like crazy. On a personal note, Cohen was the most important musical influence in my life and the songwriter I admire above all. My daughter bears his name.

2016 can go fuck itself.
