Exclusive Star Wars LEGO Set Coming to Comic-Con, But It Won’t Be Easy to Get

LEGO has announced another Comic-Con exclusive for next month, but man does it sound like a pain in the ass to acquire.

What is it?

The 177-piece “Dagobah” set will recreate that iconic setting from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, complete with Yoda’s hut and Luke’s crashed X-Wing.

It looks a bit small for the $39.99 price tag, but considering it’s a Comic-Con exclusive (and a Star Wars one at that), it will undoubtedly be one of the hot ticket items at the show. That might be why LEGO is making the process of obtaining one complicated to say the least.

What do you have to do?

So instead of braving the LEGO booth line at Comic-Con (a pretty significant ordeal itself), you’ll need to head to the Pavilion Terrace, located on the upper level of the convention center outside the Sails Pavilion. There you can line up to enter in a random drawing for a chance to purchase the set later that day.

While this sounds like it might save you some time, it probably won’t. LEGO notes that the line to get a ticket could start moving as early as 7:00 AM each day, which means the diehards will likely be lining up well before then. The announcement also doesn’t note whether or not a winning ticket will let you bypass the usual line at the LEGO booth, nor does it mention how many winners will be drawn each day.

Basically, if you want this set, you’ll need to wake up in the wee hours of the morning and get in a line that is only for a chance at possibly purchasing it. That also means you won’t be able to get in any of the other big purchasing lines that day, such as Hasbro, Funko, or heck, even LEGO itself.

So if you want to buy this exclusive, make sure you really want it, because that’s probably all you’ll be doing that morning.

Comic-Con exclusives are getting a little ridiculous aren’t they?

Yeah… but we still love ’em.
