The LEGO booth always has one of Comic-Con’s scariest lines, but that doesn’t stop collectors from queuing up in the wee hours of the morning to try and grab those tantalizing exclusives.
If you think you might be in that boat, we’ve got the details on what exclusives LEGO will be selling this year. All told, it looks like five Comic-Con exclusives this year: three sets and two minifig giveaways.
But first, a very brief FAQ:
Where is the LEGO booth this year?
LEGO is located at #2829.
What can I expect line-wise?
The LEGO line is historically one of the con’s longest, but this year they’ll be doing something a bit different.
As we previously reported, LEGO will be determining who can buy the Comic-Con exclusives via a random lottery system. You’ll need to head up to the Pavilion Terrace (on the upper level of the convention center outside the Sails Pavilion) early in the morning to get in line for that drawing. LEGO’s announcement states that this line could begin moving as early as 7:00 AM, so expect the diehard fans to be up there well before then.
If you manage to obtain a ticket, and happen to be one of the winning numbers, you’ll be allowed to head down to the LEGO booth anytime that day to purchase your loot.
How do the giveaways work?
On Thursday through Saturday, LEGO will also be hosting a daily giveaway for an exclusive minifig. To score one, you’ll need to line up at the Pavilion Terrace of the convention center before 12:30 PM.
These lines get very long, and if it’s anything like previous years, you’re not guaranteed to get a figure, even if you’re in line early. Previous years have used a randomized lottery system, and you won’t find out if you’re a winner or not until you get through the line. It’s harsh, but apparently still worth it for a lot of fans (this is the only place you’ll be able to get these minifigs first hand).
Will anything else be revealed between now and Comic-Con?
LEGO has a weird habit of waiting on their reveals until the last minute, so don’t be surprised if a few more exclusives pop up before Preview Night is over. I’ll update this post if I catch wind of anything new.
