Director James Gunn has confirmed that the MCU’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is currently scheduled to be released in 2020.
Marvel previously locked down the release dates of May 1, August 7 and November 1, 2020 for as-of-yet unannounced films. If Marvel chooses to follow a similar release structure to its previous “phases,” this would unsurprisingly place the third Guardians installment squarely in Phase Four (phases have previously stretched between two and four years worth of releases). As of now, the only Phase Four project with a release date is the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel, which has been scheduled for July 5, just two months after Avengers 4 wraps up Phase Three.
