Doctor Who returns in just over a week now, and we’ve got a prologue that’s teasing… something?
Okay, what’s going on here?
From what we can tell, the Doctor is back on Karn, where he regenerated from the Eighth Doctor into the War Doctor. He’s meeting with a Sister of Karn, and handing over what we know from a previous trailer is his “Last Will and Testament.”
As for the general gloom? It might have something to do with this creepy looking fellow, again from that trailer for The Magician’s Apprentice, the first episode of Season 9:

Doctor Who Season 9 will premiere on Saturday, September 19.
