September is here, which means summer is finally drawing to a close. Don’t be sad about the lack of sun though, there are more than a few reasons to stay inside as those temperatures begin to drop.

September 5
Guardians of the Galaxy
9PM – Disney XD
The Guardians of the Galaxy animated series will air one episode tonight, ahead of the full season later this month.
September 11
Z Nation
10PM – SyFy
That “other zombie show” returns for its second season, picking up after the bombs dropped in the Season One cliffhanger.
Continuum
11PM – Syfy
The time-hopping series Continuum is back with a fourth and final season.
September 15
The Bastard Executioner
10PM – FX
This historical drama is set in 14th century England, following a knight in King Edward I’s army who returns from war to become an executioner.
September 19
Doctor Who
9PM – BBC America
The Twelfth Doctor and Clara are back for the long-running show’s ninth series. This batch of episodes will include the return of Missy, as well as the introduction of an enigmatic new character played by Game of Thrones‘ Maise Williams.
September 21
Gotham
8PM – Fox
Villains will rise in Gotham’s second season, including the debut of Mr. Freeze, Hugo Strange, Calendar Man, and many, many more. The show’s trailers have also teased some Batman origins, with Bruce Wayne investigating a mysterious cave beneath Wayne Manor.
Minority Report
9PM – Fox
A sequel to the 2002 movie, the show centers around a former Precog who teams up with a detective to fight crime.
Blindspot
10PM – CBS
A woman wakes up with no memory of her past, and covered in tattoos linked to unsolved crimes.
September 22
The Muppets
8PM – ABC
The Muppets are back! Need I say more?
Limitless
10PM – ABC
Another sequel to a movie, the Limitless TV series will guest star Bradley Cooper’s Eddie Mora as he passes the NZT super drug on to a slacker named Brian.

Heroes Reborn
8PM – NBC
Heroes gets the ending it deserves (hopefully), returning for one final miniseries.
September 26
Guardians of the Galaxy
9:30 PM – Disney XD
This animated series isn’t part of the MCU, but it’s definitely inspired by it. Expect a talking raccoon, a walking tree, and plenty of space shenanigans.
September 27
Once Upon a Time
8PM – ABC
The new season of Once will introduce Merida, from Pixar’s Brave, as one of the new characters. It feels like it’s only a matter of time now before Thor and Princess Leia show up too.
The Last Man on Earth
9:30PM – Fox
It turns out Phil Miller isn’t actually the last man on Earth, but somehow, that’s only causing more problems for him. Season Two will find him and his wife Carol leaving Tucson in search of a new home.

Agents of SHIELD
9PM – ABC
It’s time for Secret Warriors! Coulson and Skye assemble a superpowered SHIELD team, while Fitz investigates Jemma’s disappearance. Also, HYDRA is back, because of course it is.
October 1
Sleepy Hollow
9PM – Fox
Despite a rocky second season, Sleepy Hollow managed to beat the odds, and will be returning for another round of adventures. Also, there will be a legit crossover with Bones, so that’s a thing.
October 4
The Leftovers
9PM – HBO
Season Two of The Leftovers takes the Garvey family to Miracle, Texas; a town inexplicably untouched by the disappearances.
October 6
The Flash
8PM – The CW
The Flash is way better than it has any business being, and that bodes very, very well for The CW’s burgeoning shared universe. Season Two will see our titular hero speeding through new timelines and alternate Earths; and perhaps most excitingly, meeting the Golden Age comic book flash, Jay Garrick!
iZombie
9PM – The CW
Liv continues to eat brains and solve crimes, while trying to stop Max Rager from unleashing a plan to kill all of the city’s zombie citizens.
October 7
Arrow
8PM – The CW
Oliver Queen is forced to take up the mantle of the Arrow again when a new villain arrives in Starling City. Plus, John Constantine escapes his cancelled NBC series for a crossover episode.
Supernatural
9PM – The CW
The Winchester brothers are back for Season 11. Holy crap, there have been 10 seasons of this show already. I’m getting old.
American Horror Story: Hotel
10PM – FX
FX’s horror anthology series returns for another standalone story. Also Lady Gaga is here, because reasons.

The Originals
9PM – The CW
The Vamire Diaries and its spin-off series are now airing back to back for a full two hours of monster violence and romance.
Haven
10PM – SyFy
This Stephen King adaptation might have gotten cancelled, but at least it’ll have a fifth and final season to wrap things up.

The Walking Dead
9PM – AMC
Who are the Wolves? Hopefully we’ll find out this season, as Rick and friends take on the responsibility of running Alexandria.

Supergirl
8:30PM – CBS
Kara Zor-El was sent to Earth to protect her younger cousin Superman, but an accidental trip through the Phantom Zone caused her to arrive way later than expected. Now the younger of the pair, Kara looks to forge her own identity as a superhero, while defending Earth from Phantom Zone escapees.

Ash Vs. Evil Dead
TBA – Starz
Following the events of the Evil Dead trilogy, Ash Williams is a tad bit over the hill, but still Earth’s best hope in stopping a new Deadite invasion.

Into the Badlands

The Man in the High Castle
Amazon Prime
This series adapts Philip K. Dick’s alternate Earth where the Axis won World War II. The pilot is already online, and it is a very promising start.

Childhood’s End

SyFy is adapting Arthur C . Clarke’s iconic novel, set in a future where aliens have established a peaceful rule over humanity.
The Expanse
10PM – SyFy
In the future of The Expanse, humanity has colonized the entire solar system. A detective is sent to find a missing woman, and discovers a massive conspiracy admist tense relations between the populations of Earth, Mars, and the asteroid mining bases.
