In a recent interview, the always entertaining Jeff Goldblum revealed that he’s in talks to reprise his role in the Independence Day sequel. If Will Smith won’t return, Goldblum is probably just as good.

“They’ve talked to me about it and I’ve talked to them about it and they’re excited and I’m anxious and eager to see — I haven’t read anything — what they cook up,” Goldblum told The Hollywood Reporter. “You know, I think they’re trying to put it together.”

Goldblum played computer whiz David Levinson in the original, a part he played again in the video game a year later.

Unfourtunately, Goldblum confirmed that he would not be returning for the Jurassic Parksequel Jurassic World. Why?

“Nobody asked me.”

Well that’s unfourtunate, but may be emblematic of Colin Trevorrow trying to seperate the new film from the original trilogy.

ID Forever Part One will be released on July 4, 2016 to mark the first’s film’s 20th anniversary.
