New Music Monday: Young Jeezy, Counting Crows, The Kooks, and More!

Psst! Hey kid! You like new music? Great, because you’ve stumbled into the perfect luau – New Music Monday, currently the sickest column on 8CN. Each week oodles of new music type things get unleashed by greedy record labels and this is where they all come to be judged. I’ll tell ya what’s good, what’s bad, and what’s a waste of your time. Thanks for stopping by!

The Big News

Ahhhchooo! The big news this week is that I am sick with one of those really fucking annoying summer cold things and am not only late with this week’s column, but too lazy to invest too much time in it. Which is a shame cuz there’s a ton of great new music being released. Let’s get started with the new Young Jeezy, Seen it All: The Autobiography.

The band your mom cool aunt Stacy lost her virgininty while listening to, Counting Crows, return with their first new album in a while. It’s getting good reviews. And the first single is like nine minutes long.

London based alt-pop quartet The Kooks return with their fourth effort Listen, which, unlike most records by The Kooks, is getting good reviews as well.

Blonde Redhead is back with their first effort since 2010.

And boy band detritus Nick Carter and Jordan Knight teamed up to… I don’t know, release some sort of shitty record or something.

Heroes of rock and roll The Vines return. Album of the year? Possibly!

My Recommendation

A new Earth album is always good news. I’ll take this and two aspirin and call y’all next week.

Next Week

Tune in next week, same new music time, same new music channel for a big week including new music from Ryan Adams!
