Hey there music lover! You like new stuff? Great! You’ve stumbled into the perfect corner of the internet.  Each week all sorts of audiolicious goodies are unleashed onto the masses and this is where they come to be judged. I’ll tell ya what’s good, what’s bad, and what’s a waste of your precious time. So strap on your headphones and let’s take a ride!

The Big News
I don’t know. Is a new Band of Horses record big news for people? It is for me cuz I’m gonna have to pretend like I don’t like it even as I buy it and listen to it and get high to it for “research” cuz, ya know, I have to listen to everything and I wouldn’t feel right just panning the album without giving it the proper attention and ya know, if history is any indication I’m gonna listen to it like 200 times this year but NOT include it in my top 10 albums or songs of the year because, ya know, there just isn’t enough there, not like their first one Everything All the Time or whatever.  That said, it is Ben Bridewell and the boys’ first album in four years.

Bounce Back Flash Back
The new Garbage record, Strange Little Birds, is “solid, addictive, and engrossing”, according to the reviewer at Bloody-Disgusting. It is the band’s sixth release, first in  a while, and is permeated by a “constant and recurring unsettling miasma”, which is just my style.

Nick Jonas “regrets” being a member of the Jonas Brothers. Poor guy. If you give a shit, and I don’t, check out his new record Last Year Was Compl… aw, fuck it. Go listen to the new Garbage instead. Garbage has never put out a bad album and Shirley Manson is one of baddest, coolest motherfuckers to ever walk the earth.

Colvin and Earle is a duet between legendary songwriters Steve Earle and Shawn Colvin. This is one of those records that seems like it should have already been made. Like, I feel like it should have been released in like 1999 and it would have been a bid deal. Now it kind of makes me go “Oh, so that’s what they’ve been up to lately. Huh.”

Indie Miscy

In times like these, I think everyone can agree, a band like Peter Bjorn and John, is necessary. Breakin’ Point is the seventh release from these Swede’s.

New stuff from Australia’s The Veronica’s. If you’re into that sort of thing.

And new Fitz and the Tantrums. Their third and frist in three years.

Country Crazy

Little Big Town’s latest, Wanderlust, was produced by Pharrell. Ugh. Why?

RIP

This is the part where we say goodbye to those who’ve hit their last high note. Rock on and rest in peace, brothers and sisters.

Gotta pay respect to The Greatest.

Canadian teen idol Bobby Curtola was 73.

My Recommendation
If you name your band Moon Hooch, I’m gonna recommend ya.

Next Week!!

Tune in next week, same new music time, same new music channel, for new stuff from: Red Hot Chili Peppers!!
