The animated dino-adventure, The Land Before Time, was a big part of many a childhood, but until now, it’s never been available to re-watch in HD.
That’s finally changing though, with a Blu-ray version of the movie available today (released with surprisingly little fanfare though).
If you missed out on this classic growing up, The Land Before Time was a 1988 animated movie directed by Don Bluth (and produced by a laundry list of filmmaking icons including Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Kathleen Kennedy, and Frank Marshall). Set during prehistoric times, it follows a group of dinosaur children who are forced to leave their drought-stricken home in search of a paradise known as the “Great Valley.”
It was a pretty awesome adventure for the kids of that era, and I’m looking forward to seeing if it still holds up.
Now all we need to do is wait for the 13 sequels to eventually make their way to Blu-ray as well, and our collection will be complete (no joke, they made 13 of them).
Thanks Reddit for the heads up. The Land Before Time is available for purchase on Blu-ray here.
