Fans were madly speculating after the January release of the second Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer, in large part due to an extremely mysterious character who we still haven’t been able to identify.
It looks like all of that speculation was moot though, as apparently, she’s not even in the movie anymore.
Who are we talking about again?
This lady:
She appears in the second Avengers 2 trailer. The context clues (placement in the trailer, color of the scene) seems to indicate that she was linked to this scene featuring Thor.
How do we know she’s not in it?
EW (who saw an early screening) reports that the woman does not appear in the final cut of the film.
They further corroborate that she likely had something to do with Thor, writing, “Thor’s whole journey to this cave is a bit of a headscratcher, which suggests a subplot that was seriously truncated.”
Who might she have been?
Back in January, we theorized that this may have been a Dora Milaje, one of Black Panther’s elite bodyguards. This was mainly due to the fact that Ulysses Klaw is going to have a role in this movie, Klaw being one of Black Panther’s biggest antagonists in the comics, and the fact that we know that Wakandan Vibranium will play a role somehow.
We’ll like have a better idea of what her role was once we see the film in a couple of weeks. Until then, this one seems like a weird little easter egg that was left on the cutting room floor.
