Will Age of Ultron’s Blu-ray Have an Alternate Ending and Extra Scenes?

Avengers: Age of Ultron hasn’t even hit theaters yet in the US — everyone getting it today, you lucky dogs you — and yet that hasn’t stopped Amazon from taking pre-orders for the Blu-Ray and DVD release. While it’s not surprising that Amazon is ahead of the curve, what’s listed in the extra features section is.

According to an announcement from Amazon.co.uk both the Blu-Ray and DVD version of Age of Ultron will include an “extended version” and an “alternate ending.” An alternate ending you say? What an insane prospect you’ve suggested Amazon!

The information comes from an Amazon pre-order announcement to coincide with the UK release of Age of Ultron.

What’s in the Extra Scenes and Alternate Ending?

I haven’t seen the film yet, so I can’t elaborate on what the alternate ending might be. If any of you decide to start up a discussion, please remember to use spoiler warnings as necessary. Thank you!

What we do know for sure, is that Joss Whedon had an initial version of the movie that ran for a total of three hours. That’s obviously much longer than the final cut of the movie that made it to theaters. The stuff he cut is most likely what’s going to be added to the DVD and Blu-Ray release.

It turns out, the mysterious woman who showed up in the trailer never actually made it into the final cut. Perhaps, she made it into the extended version? We won’t know for sure, until the DVD or Blu-Ray release is in our hands.

Hell, before that happens we have to watch Age of Ultron. Have you seen it yet? What did you think?
