That Cave Lady in Avengers: Age of Ultron? Turns Out She Was No One

That mysterious woman in the January Age of Ultron trailer sparked a ton of discussion a few months ago, only for us to find out that she’s been removed from the final cut of the film.

Was she meant to be a cameo for a future character? A tie-in that never panned out? Was the footage stolen by a DC Comics black ops team?

So what gives, who is this strange lady?

Well, prepare for a little disappointment, because Marvel has officially weighed in on it and the answer is not very exciting.

Marvel head Kevin Feige revealed her identity to Cinemablend, and well, she’s literally nobody:

That was just the imagery. That was just interesting imagery as part of a dream sequence… It was part of when Thor was looking around at the oddity and the strangeness happening and it was just an image marketing grabbed.

In that case it was just an arresting image which seemed interesting and when marketing presented it to us, we said, ‘Oh yeah, cool! This is great! Amazing, great work.’ And then it started to go out and I thought, ‘People are going to read into all this stuff.’

So there you have it. Mysterious cave lady? Just a mysterious cave lady.

Don’t worry though, I’m sure there will be plenty of actual Avengers easter eggs to discover when the film arrives on May 1.
