The Marvel rumor mill just keeps on spinning, doesn’t it? The latest internet rumbles suggests that Fox has traded the Fantastic Four film rights in exchange for television rights for the X-Men franchise.
Woooo! Doctor Doom Here We Come!
Well, it’s probably a little too soon to celebrate. The original story from Den of Geeks states:
Fox were given the TV rights for X-Men in exchange for Fantastic Four. The deal’s been in the works for some time, we’re told, and further, the timing of Marvel’s recent announcement of its movie slate leading up to the year 2020 and the X-Men TV series is no coincidence.
As you may recall, Marvel has three untitled films scheduled in after 2019. The Fantastic Four may be one of those films, if the rumor proves to be true.
It would also coincide with Fox’s recently announced Legion and Hellfire, two X-Men themed TV shows. But, of course, it’s always important to take these new pieces with a grain of salt.
