Time to clog up your steam backlog even more!
Well, it’s not exactly the autumn sale… but if you love stealth games it’s got to be Christmas in October. In the latest themed sale from Valve, a ton of stealth games have gone on sale and we’re here to tell you which deals are the best.
So, what are the deals overall?
There are a ton, and not all could strictly be called stealth games… though all the games on sale do contain at some point a stealth element. There’s way too many to list out here (you’d be scrolling for quite a whole), so just check out the official page.
What are the best deals?
If you’re not caught up on the Assassins Creed Franchise, now’s the time to start. Currently, Assassin’s Creed, Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed Revelations, and Assassin’s Creed III are all $4.99.
The newer entries are slightly pricier: Black Flag is $10.19, but its standalone expansion Freedom Cry is only $3.49. Assassin’s Creed Chronicles China is also $7.49.
If you’re keeping yourself to a budget, we’d recommend Assassin’s Creed II, Brotherhood, and Black Flag out of the whole franchise. Still even a mediocre entry in the series is worth playing for these prices.
The other really big mainstream franchise on sale is Splinter Cell for 75% off, the best entry of which is widely considered to be Chaos Theory, which is currently going for $2.49. The highest priced of the franchise is the latest entry, Blacklist, which is at a very reasonable $7.49.
What else?
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is downright hysterical and has a great 80s soundtrack, so it’s a real steal at $3.74. Obsidian’s Alpha Protocol is also a surprisingly solid RPG despite its reputation, so if you like Mass Effect and spy movies we highly recommend picking that up for $3.74.
Steam sales are also a great time to be picking up indie games for cheap, so if you want to go that route Gunpoint is only 2.39 and Mark of the Ninja is $3.74. The indie adventure game Lucius, which is extremely well reviewed, is also on sale for $1.99… so even for an impulse buy there’s very little regret involved.
The visually striking indie first person adventure game Betrayer is also going for $2.49 and has some fantastic reviews from the Steam community. Speaking of supernatural games, the cult hit Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines is only $4.99, for those looking for a gothic RPG that thinks a little outside the box.
How long will the sale be going on?
The sale ends on October 18th, 10am PDT… so get them games quick. If you need help deciding, check out our Steam Sale Guide on which sales are right for you. Until then, hold onto your wallet!
